Window Shopping Friday

January 13, 2012 By Vidya 2 Comments

As I was getting my monthly (nowadays it has become more like a weekly) fix of Home Goods inspiration and salivating over the oh…so pretty stuff,  it hit me…..why don’t I do a series of posts about my window shopping explorations?  More than actually wanting to buy stuff, these trips are a form of stress relief and getting some ‘me’ time …..plus the laziest way to burn a few calories 😉 .

The first thing that caught my eye, this bust of a horse (is that what it is called?).  Anyways… lately I have got a thing for horses. The horse on the living room coffee table started off the trend. This one in particular may be a bit too big for a coffee table but would be just right for a desk in the man cave or even the study. Though I loved the color and the features it was a bit too manly for me. The fact that my man is not that into horses didn’t help either. Window Shopping Friday

WOW…..I just caught a glimpse of CAPIZ……..CAPIZ……As you can tell I am capiz crazy. This vase was gorgeous, would look great on a fireplace hearth or even a media console  (where the TV is mounted on the wall) in a large room. Sadly B has totally put a cap on my capiz buys. 🙁 It seems he can’t stand all the sheen!

Talking about media consoles, how is this one? Love the rustic finish. If not for the tag ($399.99, which actually wasn’t that bad) and the pastel paint finish I would have considered buying it. Plus this was about the same height as our current one. We wanted something a little bit taller.

Mirror mirror every where. Have been on the look out for a mirror chest for our family room for some time now. Almost bought one months ago at our local TJMAXX. I liked the size of this one, the price was doable, but something about the finish bothered me. May be it is a bit too shabby chic for the look that I was going for?

Hmm…whats this? At a first glance it looked like a lamp. On a closer look, it was just a …….I still don’t know what it is, lets us call it a show piece. Looked really cool though. Would have bought it in a heart beat if it were a lamp. Even as a show piece would have looked great in the study but not for $39.99.

And that was it!

From yours truly, Home Goods junkie!

Love this outdoor space with a beautiful red and blue outdoor decor with a flamingo pillow, metal tray side table, and loads of green plants

Finally the long overdue post, our new screened in porch reveal. This space has undoubtedly become our favorite room in the house now. To tell you the truth, I was against the idea of ripping apart our good size deck and replacing it with a screened in porch but B insisted that this was the…
