Same Look 4 Less – Sophisticated Living Room

October 3, 2013 By Vidya 2 Comments

This month we are back to using the Washington Post House Calls feature as our model. For all the new readers, in this series I try to recreate the designer look for a much lower budget. You can read more posts in this series here. In this living room designer Dennese Guadeloupe Rojas of Interiors by Design chose soft colors and sophisticated accessories to jazz up the space making the best use of the garden view. The Washington Post’s (Wa Po) budget for the room; for their Splurge version – $10,757 and for the Save version –$9,489.

Here is my take on the room keeping the couch, the rug, and quite a few accessories the same.

The budget for this one…..drum roll please…..$6,283 a savings of over $3k! I could have saved a neat sum had I switched the rug and throw pillows if  but I ran out of time while writing this post. It is already 12.45 am this morning and I haven’t even hit the Publish button yet.:)

The budget breakdown;
